SOME ANNOUNCEMENTS AND STUFF;

We at Stereo Sanctity are very sad to hear of the premature demise of Cat on Form, one of the liveliest, smartest and generally bestest young British bands of the past few years. It’s sad to see a band with such an obvious group dynamic and strength of purpose bite the dust, and obviously good luck goes out to them in any future musical ventures or, y’know, just general life and stuff.

Apparently, the paper-bound Stereo Sanctity has been reviewed in that influential compendium of general awesomeness, Punk Planet. The only reason I know this is that a hardcore label based in Blackpool just sent me a free record, saying they got my details from there. Thanks guys! (This is actually the first time my zine activity has attracted any decent free stuff – anyone who feels they can rectify the situation is more than welcome). So hurrah for all that anyway! If anybody’s got a copy of PP#61 hanging around, I’d love to know what they said about my stuff..

I picked up the new issue of the premier journal for connoisseurs of gaunt, bearded men (and occasionally music), Loose Lips Sink Ships, at the weekend, and as previously it’s well worth yr. cash. To have even a fleeting insight into the current activities of Josh T. Pearson / Lift to Experience is surely worth the entry price alone to all of us who obsessed over ‘the Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads’ a while back, and aside from that my favourite bits so far include: the illustration of Everett True as indie-caesar, the writings of Jennifer Maerz and Neil Kulkarni, the interview with Monkey Island (who sound awesome).. and so on. Even when they feature artists I’m not particularly bothered about, the quality of writing and presentation in this magazine is absolutely exemplary. Top.

4.
The eternal search for the Best Band Name Ever is now closed. According to last night’s John Peel show, a group or individual going by the name of DAVID CRONENBERG’S WIFE will be taking the stage at some event or other. Truly we are not worthy.

5.
If anybody has any good suggestions for anywhere I could get a decent job and/or place to live at the moment, that would be, like, awesome.
